What is dew point?
Dew point is the temperature at which water vapour in a gas begins to condense into liquid. In compressed air, a lower dew point indicates drier air with less moisture present.
Why it is measured
Moisture carried in compressed air can affect downstream equipment and processes. Measuring dew point helps teams understand how dry their compressed air is and monitor it over time.
Types of instruments
- Portable dew point meters
- Fixed / inline dew point transmitters
- Compressed air quality analysers
